Sharia Law

Sharia Law in Australia is limited to personal Islamic ethics and laws. Sharia or Islamic laws are subject to the operation of Australian laws but sometimes legal remedy alone may not be enough. For example, legal divorce by the Federal Circuit and Family Court is enough for legal purposes however a female cannot marry another person without Sharia law divorce. There are different Sharia laws developed by different sects of Islam. In principle, the majority of the Sharia laws are consistent with each other but there are some differences as well. Some financial matters under Sharia laws and Australian laws are to work together to get the result in the best public interest.
